Our Vision

The Architechtual Construction Technology Academy at McKinley High School will ensure that students attain a premium 21st century education preparing them for college, trade school, and the workforce.

Our Mission

The Mission of the Architechtual Construction Technology Academy is to be Buffalo's leading providor of vocational training skills in academically challenging environment by offering our students with the following:

Our Academics

McKinley offers Regents level courses as required by New York State and includes a career and technical component.

 

Architecture & Construction Technology (ACT) Academy includes the four Building Trades: Electrical Technology, Carpentry, Plumbing, and HVAC (Heating, Ventilation, and Air Conditioning).

 

Graphics & Environmental Technology (GET) Academy includes Aquatic Ecology, Horticulture, and Printing.

​

Freshman Academy includes the Exploring Building Trades Course where students explore a different vocational shop class each marking period in order to decide ultimately which shop they would like to enter. Following this course, they would enter the shop class of their choosing.

 

For each academy, students will be on track to graduate with a New Yorks State's Advances Regents Diploma along with the Career Developmental and Occupational Studies (CDOS) Certificate in the shop they chose.
